I don't think he did?? In the novel series they really hyped up penelope x icklies so I think he didn't?? I'm pretty sure icklies died too so ༎‿༎

He became obsessive. Especially when he saw Penelope's happy expression when she was with Callisto. That's when he decided to became a traitor, hence the toxic part.
