I can respect that you don’t wanna see kids and teens shipped together. I really can. But, I don’t think that calling people gross is something you should do. Well, under normal circumstances. The fact that people “like” kids in that way is disturbing. But on here I don’t think that many people actually see the kids that way, or they don’t intend to.

For me it’s like the filter telling me that it’s wrong is there. BUT that is only to a degree. I find it VERY gross, disturbing, and just plain wrong that people like kids in THAT way. I can read it to a point, but if it does just go to straight pedophilia then I can’t handle it. I really can’t, it’s to disturbing for me. And if I do end up reading something like that then I check the age their set at. I’m straying off topic. About the age. If they go around age 13 or lower, I feel sick and can’t read it. But if it’s around 15 or higher then it doesn’t bother me to much. Kids around that age were getting pregnant left and right, and it was just wrong but that’s how our world was not to long ago and still is. And they should be able to make their own decisions, and now what’s right and/or wrong.

I know that just because teens are like that now a days doesn’t make it right in any way. But I guess sense I’m closer in age with them I don’t care as much as I should. It’s hard to explain. I just saw it so much I just slowly began to stop caring.

And I can understand from where your coming from when you say the thing about shipping the middle schoolers. I personally don’t ship them when their middle schoolers. But when they enter high school it’s like a switch goes off in my head. Now let me make this clear before any hate starts happening. The only times I have shipped people in really life are seniors and in rare occasions juniors. For the high school age thing. I have a hard time actually thinking about that stuff with real people. But when it comes to fiction the bar goes a little lower. I can’t handle sexualizing middle schoolers. Or I don’t think I can. I sure hope not. I just can’t seem to think “hey those two would make a great couple” when I’m looking at someone that looked like their in middle school in real life. I just can’t seem to do it.

But when I look at Arthur and Elijah they kinda look older to me, and it looked like they fit in the age gap that I set. I can’t remember their age right now in the book though so I can’t confirm it. And when I said I ship them, I meant it in a cute and wholesome way. Like them just hanging out together and enjoying each others company like how friend would sometimes, just in a little more. I don’t know how to say it. For them to be a little closer? Like in a cute couple manga you would see them go on a date and just hold hands and just seem like a good couple. And it wouldn’t seem like anything sexual has to be provided for the relationship to last. Like they aren’t after each other’s body’s or anything. They’re just together because they like or love each other.

Also about the rape thing. I mainly read gay manga to be honest with you. I have read a few that have a rape tag in them and it actually bothers me a lot. But here’s the thing. It only goes close to happening. They never actually manage to get IT in. And the character never actually gets raped. Let’s say for example that a character is close to being raped but their partner steps in before the creep can go all the way. (This happens for just about all of the manga i’v read) I will still feel sick to my stomach and put my hand on my mouth to keep myself from throwing up. I hate hate HATE the idea of rape. I once started reading a story where it was the partner that set it up and watched it happen. And let me just say that I tasted my dinner again and had to wait some time before I could fill my stomach back up with food. It was sickening to read. For me anyways. I’ll let other have their own opinions. Like I said before, the switch in the head just doesn’t do it’s thing when reading manga. I don’t know why. I couldn’t finish reading the manga, so later on I made a list of manga I’m not willing to read because I just can’t handle them and the story.

Also they never have the character go through any flashback or have any side effect from what nearly happens to them. Like sure the creep couldn’t go all the way, but it’s still a pretty traumatic experience.
I have read a story where the character had it happen to them and had a child as a result. And they do have some remaining trauma from it. It was really difficult to read but I wanted to at least stop reading the story when there was a somewhat happy ending for them. Luckily they did have a happy ending. But it was still rather difficult to read.
