I agree with the rest but Sharpe isn't doing or risking anything for AJ. He's using him to complete his mission, then issues unrealistic orders that endanger AJ further (like be there when I want it, don't under any circumstances use drugs etc). Maybe he starts caring for him but as of now he's just another asshole that uses AJ like a thing...

Sharpe is in as much risk as AJ is when it comes to Warren. Warren was a former comrade of his which is why they are trying to get rid of him.
Ya'll seem to forget that Sharpe is not his own boss-- he has someone he has to answer to and the person he answers to WANTS to kill AJ whereas Sharpe literally yelled and shouted at said boss that there was no need to kill him right up until the boss cut the line.
The thing about the drugs is 'cause he doesn't want AJ to accidentally slip up during the mission. This could get AJ killed by Warren or even worse if it's found out that AJ had been sniffing around. That and tbh I feel like Sharpe giving AJ a good reason to quit drugs is better than Warren forcing-- yes, FORCING-- his "assets" to look "pretty" for their customers.
Sharpe didn't have to choose AJ. He could've gone with someone else. He was just looking for someone who was dissatisfied with how Warren was working them and AJ just happened to be the first person he came across that also fit the bill. I'm not saying Sharpe hasn't been an ass but out of everyone so far he's the only one who has provided AJ with a way out.
Also, I love how everyone keeps ignoring the key parts in my posts just to come right back around to "Sharpe is an asshole that just uses him." Sharpe and AJ AGREED to those terms for the mission and Sharpe laid out those terms for a reason. The people he works for would have no problems killing or making someone like AJ disappear if he decides to disobey them or defect. Sharpe was literally just told that he had to kill AJ even tho he doesn't want to ('cause his boss considers AJ to be a loose end or someone who could blab about their mission details and whatnot) and then after arguing with his boss AJ ignores his messages which could be a sign of insubordination in Sharpe's boss's eyes. If they consider AJ a threat or possible leak of intel they'll send someone else in to kill him since Sharpe won't do it.

Warren is literally the definition of use and abuse and but that in your eyes seems like some form of affection? Warren IS CAUTIOUS. It's why he dopes and beats on his workers. He gets them addicted, beaten and mentally worn out so they won't want to leave or question anything. HE WAS UPSET WHEN AJ SAID HE WANTED TO GET SOBER 'CAUSE AJ IS HIS GOLDEN TICKET TO MORE MONEY. He even forced AJ to do drugs AGAIN so that he could get gang raped AGAIN as a form of punishment.
At least when Sharpe talks to AJ he is upfront about shit. He tells AJ how he feels about things and doesn't try and pussyfoot around it. When AJ told him he didn't have to feel bad for how he ended up Sharpe was honest and said what he truly felt. He's also serious about getting AJ out of there-- so serious even that he yelled and tried to bargain with his own boss when he was told to KILL AJ.

Of course quitting drugs is a good thing. But what put AJ in jeopardy was Sharpe holding onto his demand at all cost even when it made AJ look suspicious in front of Warren. And yes, AJ agreed to Sharpe's terms for the mission, but he also agreed to work for Warren.
It's coercion in both cases, both of them using his desperation to use him for their goals.
And concerning your first point, yes, Sharpe is in danger, too. But he chose and was trained to do this job. AJ is just a civilian who is completely at Warren's mercy (as can be seen with that gangrape scene). So I don't know how Sharpe would be exposed to the same risk.
Sharpe also couldn't have chosen someone else because it would have been a bigger risk. He knew AJ and knew what buttons to push to get him to help. A random other person could have just informed Warren and it would have been over.
So yeah, Sharpe isn't as much an asshole as Warren but he's still a big enough asshole that I want him as far away from AJ as possible.
