ok so basically i think that other animals like imagine each other as humans like the author wrote it that way but the actual humans in the story think they are animals, if that makes sense..
But the thing is that the guy who is supposed to come back and rescue these animals who were left out when the animal shelter got abandoned was talking to them like they were actual people he saw like the crocodile, his quote 'That guy I saw was actually the crocodile?' and that also explains why he couldn't recognize his dog and why he was freaked out and shitting his pants lmao
