I love the author but... the timing where she wants the translation stop is quite... hurtful to the international fans. Especially when theres so many of us.
I wish to wait but... its really just disappointing.
I don't blame the author if she really wants to stop the discussion of the licensing but I really hope she will change her mind... asap.
It is disappointing but what could we do :( in the meantime I guess let us just reread from the start or read other things or we can papago. Trust me, I'm really dying to know what will happen next but I'd rather wait than make the author disappointed :(
I don’t understand why they do not want to offer the novel to international fans officially. Even the Korean raws novel requires you to own a Korean bank to purchase. Of course, us international fans would lean on illegal translations. We’re even willing to pay for legally translated ones but that’s not an option for us is it. Anw, idc about the means as long as I get to read the story
This could be a push and pull tactic. Also it can be like what OP said, they want ALL illegal translations stopped (like this webtoon) so they opted for all or none at all. Publishing industry is in my opinion a very complicatrd since its one of the things that's so easily stolen and like here on mangago, this site is earning so much yet none of those goes to the the original owners. That could really hurt them financially. This novel has a large following, imagine the lost money they could have gotten from that following. So I somehow understood their sentiments. They might be looking for a better way to publish or a diff distributor that can offer them more.
I guess what I'm trying to say is at the end of the day, they have the final say because this is their hard work and they deserve the proper compensation.

I truly love TCF novel and I wouldn't hesitate to spend money over it if ever it get licensed but continuing illegal translations might jeopardize the discussion between the Korean publisher and Wuxiaworld.
You are missing the point. I bet this is one of the reasons why the author DECIDED TO STOP THE LICENSE DISCUSSION. Because people still keep on scanlating TCF webtoon despite the DMCA from the publisher. I mean it will probably get licensed in the future as well, let's just be patient?
But no, because people keep scanlating LICENSED stuff, we might end up not getting licensed TCF novel too.
I won't be a hypocrite and tell you I only buy licensed stuff. I love free things. I mean, who wouldn't? But I still try to support artists/authors even in small ways. Especially if it's something I super truly love.
TCF is one of the best things I've read in my entire life. No kidding. I love it so much because the way it was written was so brilliant. So WELL PLANNED SINCE THE BEGINNING. The author deserves the support. The author deserves RESPECT. IT IS HER WORK. Please we should respect that and wait patiently. It's not like they said they will drop it. It will just be on indefinite hiatus.
I mean ask yourself, if you see your work being spread around the world WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT, would you be happy?
Don't ruin this and make us, the international fans, look bad in the author's eyes.
