Unpopular Opinion

I hate hate HATE plots that revolve completely around misunderstandings. I personally find them to be very lazy writing that can be easily solved by either talking or even just using your eyes and brain to workout the truth.

I’m predicting that he’s going to think the Prince of Yan hates him because that soldier said he wanted him castrated.
1. If he wanted you castrated and the first attempt failed, he’d just order it to be done again or he’d just do it himself, but he doesn’t
2. It was obvious that soldier was lying. If he wasn’t why would he run away?
Putting the fact that the soldier ran away and the Prince or Yan never tries to castrate you again wouldn’t you put that together that the soldier was lying? NOPE! The plot relies on stupid misunderstandings.

I like transmigration stories, but I find some of them rely on misunderstandings so much that it makes the first half of the story void.
1. Hug the protagonist thigh so he doesn’t kill me
2. End up doing the exact thing that will cause my demise
3. Be so scared that the protagonist is going to kill me that I act stupidly and become oblivious to everything but my own preconceived ideas.
Like, I just want to bonk his head so he forgets everything about the plot and can see the Prince of Yan as his real person instead of a protagonist destined to kill him.

I really love this story, it’s one of my favourite historical transmigration stories, but I just hope the author isn’t going to rely on silly misunderstandings for too long. Both I and the characters lose IQ the longer it goes on.

its honestly hella annoying and I hatr those tropes too
It’s more common in the chinese comics/donghua and the misunderstandings last for sooo long, and once one gets understood then another one pops up
and these problems could’ve been solved with a 2-min intelligent convo but they really making it last for years/months on end
