I’ll admit i’ve read a *decent* amount of yaoi so i’ve seen broxbro but consent is the big thing to me. Using something along the lines of “notorious homosexual” is kinda homophobic, no? It makes it seems like “oh damn gay men are after us” and “our sons are gonna be swept away by gays.” The use of “notorious” means the prince was not known in a good way, but to say basically “the gay prince assaulted his brother because he was ‘the gay’” but not “this power hungry scum assaulted his brother for power he possessed” seems homophobic to me.
It could be down to translation but it really rubbed me the wrong way ( ̄へ ̄)

    Think they meant it more like he was a notorious playboy, which would've helped.

    I thought they meant "notorious homosexual" as a non-treasonous way of saying that he wasn't very picky about the methods he used to get people in bed. Example: raping his imprisoned brother
