For some reason I thought there would be a plot twist where the ML's sister had a child. (lets presume the ML is in his 30s and the FL is like 16 or something). The child would turn out to be the FL, Chloe.
... I mean it's a weird twist, but I probably would've been ok if they fell in love to find out they were cousins. (i mean plenty of nobles married in family to maintain the noble blood lines)

But they already said that she was actually a little older than the ML.

i guess if anyone thought incest would happen then that father must've been so distraught from his first daughter that he lived like a monk and abstained from making babies til she made chloe. and then he'd unassumingly made the ML.... but he's a virile noble looking for a male heir, so.......fat chance he'd abstain for ~18 years.
ML and FL are not blood related. The elder sister is only a little older than the ML, like same age as Chole.

The ML had an older sister whom he doesn't know the existence of. The emperor (ML's dad) only needs a son to be his heir so when his wife gave birth to a girl he command his people to kill the baby. After that the second child ML was born however his mother hate him because she thought her first born died because of him. Later the ML get to know this story through his mother's diary. In the diary she has written that she loved ML however he resemble his father a lot that's why every time she see him she wasn't able to show him love. Later in the story it revealed that the ML's sister is alive. The people who was commanded to kill her actually didn't kill her they abandoned her in a forest and somehow she servived. The sister end up with one of the the ML's friend(sorry, forgot his name)
