The real asshole is Sovieshu. He sees she's dumb as a rock and spoiled in his presence, very immature and flirty and silly.
So, instead of just keeping her quietly in a separate house as his concubine, he makes a spectacle of her and her pregnancy.
Any humiliations is assisted by him. He should know better how custom-bound his nation is. He's making this whole thing ridiculous.
Damn right lol. He doesn't even tell her their child isn't gonna have the title of prince or princess until after she publicly humiliates herself calling her unborn child. And I hate how clear he puts a line between emperor and empress, like how he thinks she's supposed to accept his concubine and their children but he thinks the empress should have more ~dignity~ with her affairs. Love how quick the crowd switches. They might love Rashta for her dumb and naive attitude which is refreshing to them, but they still have a respect for royal customs. For Rashta to refer to her unborn child as prince or princess when she isn't a proper royal-- those looks from them say everything.
