Actually, its just a matter of perspective. Its coz we grew up with a set of values and such set up is a conflicting with what we perceive as right or wrong, we will subconsciously reject the idea with different reaction.
But imo, I don’t find it unacceptable, coz both characters did not really grew up with each other in every sense of the word.
