I thought that too but I don't think that's the case. It must be because of the war between the garlands and werewolves
Interesting theory but I doubt it a little cause they were given respectable deaths. If they
murdered them for the sole purpose to futher ignite the feud, they should've made the murder scene far more brutal or gruesome
But the fact that they are related may have a play on this. Not sure, just skeptical.
