Except that it WASN'T an uncertain future, as confirmed in the novel...by Pryde herself. Only SMALL portions of her future were avoidable. Pryde was ALWAYS going to go insane and try to destroy her country and people. This is one of the reasons why "our" Pryde never treated her fate as something changeable, but did her best to save everyone else--the only thing that could be changed. Meanwhile, "game" Pryde basically gave up on everything at 8 years old and decided to punish the world for hating her.
The only thing the Queen did by abandoning Pryde was lose her daughter 7 years before she needed to. Pryde could have had happiness, friends and family, but the Queen didn't trust her to be anything but a monster.
Okay, can we talk about the queen? She's one of the shitties character in the manga and yall can't change my fucking mind about that *sigh*
