If he was capable of doing something that horrible out of jealousy, sorry but no, I wouldn't trust that person unless they got time in a psychiatric hospital (when mentally ill people commit crimes that's where they are sent off until they are fit to come back and live normally) and still is followed by a psychologist to be sure that person won't ever do that again. He got none of that and it's not like it happened years ago in that story either
