I swear the author is just using this as a "bam bam" cliffhanger effect. Otherwise why create such a hypocritical character. Acts like he respects personal boundy by scolding our cute Kimihiko but doesn't respect any by mouthing Takeru.... Like seriously? A truly considerate person whether it's customs or not wouldn't randomly mouth someone upon meeting.

Ummmm we don't... we only do it with family occasionally. Also that's the French and they do it on the cheeks.
People just add that type of stuff in because of stereotypes and to keep the story moving. （￣へ￣）
