It's because it's fictional and these are things people know should never be done in reality? If we are what we consume in media, I would've a murdering serial killer a long time ago cause I love horror movies lol Anyway, I agree that what happened last chapter was rape, but notice that unlike other BL, the author actually acknowledges that what ML did was wrong (as well as the bullying he's been doing) in the latest chapter by having him apologize to MC. Also notice how things are not just magically fixed. Story wise this webtoon is pretty cliche but it's actually one of the more decent and humane ones haha

I believe that yeah what we consume doesn’t reflect us but I do believe that we hike kit in This s case if a author writes in a rape plot but glosses over it and doesn’t treat it with respect I feel that reflects their views but your opinion is also valid and yeah this author actually addressed it but how many bl are there where the author actually does address it none at least that I’ve read

I have to disagree with your statement that “If we are what we consume in media, I would've a murdering serial killer a long time ago cause I love horror movies”
As horror movies typically demonstrate that the serial killer is in the wrong and rarely ever tries to make them seem as they are heroic in their actions. Typically by demonizing or showcasing the actions/affects it has on the characters. Essentially telling us, the audience, that we shouldn’t want to be like them and should stand with the protagonist/hero of the work.
In BL however, the rapists aren’t shown to be “evil” or “absuive.” The rape occurs and then is quickly forgotten about the next chapter like it never happened. Often times it doesn’t even affect the victim. Instead the victim falls in love with their abuser and is shown as romantic. Thus further perpetuating the idea that rape is a normal occurrence and desensitizes us to it the more we see it happen.
For this reason, the two points can’t really be compared as one genre depicts the abuser as in the wrong while the other one depicts the abuser as in the right. Anyways thanks for sticking around my essay/Ted talk!
It’s honestly horrifying how normalized rape is in bl and how no one has a problem with it but also if in bl characters get drunk and have sex that’s rape if any or 1 of the characters is drunk it’s still rape cause 1 or both parties cannons give consent you can say they would have wanted it if their weren’t drunk but umm that’s hot a good way to think
Just cause 1 person might have wanted that why should the other person take it on them selves to make that decision for the 2 of them it doesn’t matter because once again CONSENT is important and sorry if it sounds like I’m not over reacting but the way some people quickly brush away drunk sex and rape is kinda concerning and it’s a touchy subject for me because I’ve known people who were assaulted in my family
