It’s been I while since I read this but I think it’s bc female Lycan gives off pheromones basically like omega in ABO and I guess could give birth too oh and (Spoilers)

    .
Actually not sure if this is a spoiler or not because idk where ur up to in the story

Female Lycan are the one that “link” the relationship ship. Basically like marking their partner. ( almost like Alpha marking Omega but here the female Lycan mark their partner) So altho he’s a male they called him female lycan because of those characteristics that female Lycan possesses.

But wait a min which couple are we talking about again?? This is info based on the first couple idk (And forgot) much about the second coups because the second one gets a bit more confusing than the first one

I've read a lot of omegaverse stories and mpreg as well but not where they keep calling them a female when they're really male that's why I'm kinda uncomfortable with it but thanks for the explanation guys

Also all omegaverse stories have explanation pages on first chapters not just the one you've mentioned and each time the author kind of changes some of the usual facts about it
