There are many way to torture them but in all situations...if it is a male you must cut off their dick. But not before doing urethra penetration on them. (This is why one must always carry sewing needles.) After doing urethra penetration, cutting off the dick is the next smartest move. This way...even if you don't plan to kill them, they will be shamed for life.
For females it's practically the same thing but with their breasts.

Bonus mini lesson - partially blunt knives are the best when torturing fiction characters because it didn't make a clean cut and so is effectively more painful
