I was very pissed that the game system forced for to please and humble herself towards her disgusting male family members. Melissa would have insult and beat the shit out of that shit father and brothers NO MATTER WHAT! Sadly not everyone can be like her :(
True! The game was heartless too because there was always a deathflag. But no worries, in the LN, Penelope fights back more and is more straightforward to her feelings. And she basically mostly just ignores the OG penelope's family lol

According to some spoilers, I think they did! Penelope's body was still alive (but in a coma) and in the hospital and I think at one point later, Penelope visits her OG world and sees her family and they asked for her forgiveness, realizing she was the their OG daughter. I don't know what happened how they realize their abuse but she didn't forgive them and she personally cut the oxygen(?) machine leaving the body dead. Then she left to penelope's world again with the ML.

That author has done a very bad job about the treatment of mental illness and ignorant portrayal of colorism/racist stereotypes...
I still think about the pitiful origHost and how much I dislike most of the male characters in this story!
At least Melissa from "Beware of the Villainess" and Alicia/MC from "When The Villainess Loves" still thinks about the misunderstood mistreated host!
