I know rapes happen in real life and i know it happens even more in prison. But it doesn't mean everyone in there gets raped. Therefore It wasn't needed for the plot.

Also yaois isn't a genre that tries to imitate real life at all.

Of course a yaoi set in a prison is most likely to have rape. But that's only because most of the authors enjoys having rapes in their stories. But even knowing that, i still stand by my point, it would have been better without the rape.

This is jail. It’ll be abnormal for it not to happen. And also I feel like you’re pushing it when you said the author enjoyed that. That’s other mangas not everyone draws rape to make it look ‘hot’ and brush it off afterwards.

The way it was drawn by the author was not in a way it could’ve be enjoyed. It was drawn the way rape brutally actually happens and especially how it is in jail.

Also with what happened to Matthew the author did a good job with showing consequences with rape and especially in jail when fucking with other people’s friends and etc.

With the blood and everything that was dripping from him, it’s just showing us the cold hard truth. Im pretty sure no one enjoyed that nor the author. No one in their right mind would enjoy someone bleeding from their asshole. It was something apart of the story the author chose to put it there. This is jail I don’t see how know one could’ve seen that coming.

One more thing yes a lot of Yaoi/bl mangas that have rape in them are written without logic but not every manga is like that. For example this one and there’s this one omegaverse manga where the uke got his justice and another one where the seme got justice for the uke in his own way. Not every manga will be based off logic but there are many that have logic.. Don’t compare every single manga as the same one because they all are different in many ways depending on what the author was going for.

The authors include what they WANT in their stories. They might do research on it, but they will only include what they want.

And just because the character itself didn't like it. It doesnt mean that the author itself didn't enjoy including rape in their story.

It's the author's choice and I ain't judging their preferences. I'm only stating my own, which dislikes rapes in a story where i like the romance part.

teeth in yaois. And yet i believe most of us do it. I believe we are more likely to brush our teeth than being raped in prison. And yet we dont see it often in yaois. Because the author don't give a shit. But we often see characters taking showers. Because that's what the author wants.

Rape or not, most of yaois don't care about logic when it comes to how characters acts. (Which is normal, it's how they can make dramas/lovey dovey/fluffy moments which is entertaining) But even if the characters are acting in ways that actually makes sense, and it leads to rape, it won't change the fact it didn't HAVE to happen. It only happens because the author wants it.

They wanted it to be in the story, that's why they put it in the story. I think you are the one missing the point. No one is forcing them to put rape in the story.

Therefore, they like rapes in their fictional stories.

Some authors likes tragic stories, so they will make someone dies and they like it like that.

Ok let's look at it from another point of view. What makes you think they dislike rape if the authors went through the hard work of introducing characters/events/settings for the rape to happen and of course drawing the whole scene.

Okay what I’m trying to say is, someone can be disgusted by rape but still yk be interested in it. In a lot of mangas some purposely make the scenes ‘hot’ so when you say they like it I’d agree with you if it were a story LIKE that. But with this story it looks like actual rape not meaning to be portrayed as hot if you get what I’m saying.

I do agree that some authors probably include rape only to add angst to the story (i guess thats what you meant by more intetesting). The same way some authors kills characters to make the story tragic.

But i believe most of them do it as a kink. It's possible that some authors do it for the fan or because all other authors do it. (many readers enjoys the angst from rapes in stories).

Mm I actually have. Those are my top favorite mangas and when you bring that in then I understand the kink type part. A lot of people do like the role play and what not with a rape scene so yes I understand that. Some have no problem with rape, I personally try to pass it up because that’s not something I’d usually enjoy.

So yeah certain authors yk put that into their story for fantasies because people do actually fantasize about being dominated forcefully and what not, while others put it for as you say more angst yk, and rape can be in interest with some.
Also one thing a rape scene can have a reader hooked when the author is actually being realistic. When I say having a reader hook Ik talking about stories where there’s justice in the mc’s own hands or the law and healing being done yk.

There’s also an incest tag and people are interested in incest mangas and what not, I actually read them because it’s something out of curiosity. It all deals with what the authors true intentions and interests are and the ah they portray certain things. It also has a lot to do with what their viewers like. Goes both ways with both parties.

I personally think the author did it because because they enjoyed rape as a kink. And the way the story was made, it really felt like the author loved the character Chang. The same way the author of Back To School said her favorite was the rapist.

Mm in back to school he was just assaulted but with back to school I can’t help but love Jihyun but he fucked everything up man... I’m happy for Chiwoo and Kyujin though, he’s perfect for Chiwoo. It’s just something about with the mc’s having that past connection though.

He was just toxic though but I understood him and how he felt with being rejected and I feel it was family’s fault he turned out the way he did.

With the rape in walk on water it ass obvious that was like for the author to enjoy. Like I said I don’t like rape but in that story I couldn’t help but look at it in a way that’ll make someone want to like it? It kind of made my blood boil and what not and I was angry but I could tell it was meant to be hot.
