Also for Back to School it's prettt much a fact that Jihyun raped Chiwoo. It wasn't shown but everything pointed in that direction and at the end when Chiwoo is at hospital, we have 1 panel when we see what Chiwoo saw. (When he was "besten up") and we see Jihyun and theres Chiwoo's bare leg next to Jihyun. Thats why Chiwoo is that much traumatized. He was extremely brutally raped (there was broken glass under his back...). I understand why so many people missed it though because during the story, it felt as if Chiwoo was re-opening towards Jihyun. Then at the end he drops the bomb that he has suicidal thoughts everytime i sees Jihyun.

I was honestly mad that after when they were adults. Chiwoo wanted to hug Jihyun but he decided not to for Kyujin. It's like the author couldnt make up his mind "Chiwoo hates Jihyun...ok now he might let him get closer...nvm he always hated Jihyun.....ok but after some years he actually wants to hug him" It really REALLY destroyed the whole point of making mental issues post rape if the author is gonna be like that. It's like Chiwoo was meant to be scared of Jihyun but the author likes Jihyun too much so she added moments where Chiwoo wanted to be close as well.

Yes there was rape. As i said, there was some hints at the begining but because it wasnt mentionned, it's normal to assume it was not a sexual assault. It's at the end in the hospital that you were supposed to understand it. You should re-read what Chiwoo says to Jihyun at the hospital. It's ALL about rape.

So with back to school I honestly cried a lot because I really love to read a lot of mangas where the couple may have a bond in the past yk and were split up. I was rooting for both Jihyun and Kyujin becuase I honestly love them both, but deep down I knew and couldn’t deny I wanted Jihyun because like I said I love past relationships.

After reading the part where Jihyun forced Chiwoo I honestly was just sitting there crying for like an hour. I have a deep connection with certain mangas, like for example 19 days, walk on water, back to school, etc. I also have a deep connection with the characters when I can relate to them in many ways.

So when I saw that happen I myself was honestly hurt. Seeing chiwoo cry like that, and Jihyun making that horrible mistake he did It was horrible. Like I said I somewhat relate to Jihyun a little with just little things and how much he loved Chiwoo and wanted him but fucked it up with a drunken mistake, instead of stopping himself.

I cried a lot at their past memories because I could feel what Jihyun felt after being rejected. Also with what you said how Chiwoo would want Jihyun but didn’t i could honestly see that and I hated it, I can tell Jihyun got his hopes up.

I’m honestly just angry and disappointed with Jihyun bro cause it’s like how can you do that to the person you’re supposed to love the most. I forgot to add I’m glad it turned out the way it did. Jihyun was abusive and they needed to be split apart to change. I can tell Jihyun has change and he’s learned from his past after reading back to school grown up, it seems he’s more calm and gentle, less forceful and not obsessive.

Also with their relationship in the original back to school It kind of reminds me of Akihiko and Ugetsu’s relationship in Given, how they just went back in forth through this toxic phase. Like you could love each other but you have to let go because all you’re going to do is hurt each other constantly. All they did was cheat on each other and I’m pretty sure Ugetsu put his hands on Akihko a lot during arguments. All they did was constantly hurt each other.

Also seeing how gently and how much Kyujin did a better job cherishing Chiwoo I honestly love that so much. Kyujin is honestly an angel. Jihyun needs to find someone else to love, to do better with, to grow with etc. And if Chiwoo decide to stay friends then that’s okay. Though I doubt because he seemed hostile a little, he still seemed open but still hostile towards Jihyun.

I personally hated a Jihyun. For me he was nothing more than an abusive friend who became a rapist when he got rejected. And i wouldn't say that the rape was a "drunken" mistake. I agree with you on painter of the night. I find myself feeling guilty for liking Seungho but I’m sorry he’s my baby. He’s fucked up but you have to remember what part of time this manga is in. With his position, its to the point no one cares and people can easily get away with things, especially Seungho because of his position cuase it’s like, no one can disobey him. It’s always so stupid. Like there’s this one manga im reading and basically this high schooler can fantasize about something and he can actually feel his fantasy. Like say he was fantasizing about eating a donut he can taste the donut and feel it etc. So in class he was fantasizing about his teacher touching him and he ejaculated. The seme was watching him so the seme started messing with him.

Basically the seme started messing with him and he was interested in him, fast forward a lot of shit happened, I don’t remember what it was because I paused the manga, but he was messing with him and then he forcefully pulled his pants down and raped him. Yea well it seems most readers enjoys drama in stories, no matter how it's done. So author just keep using rape as a way to add drama and it works most of the time.

The rape scenes that i don't really see it as rape is when :

1. Uke didn't try to fight back physically

2. The uke's feelings towards the guy AFTER is still normal. (Not afraid of his "rapist", does not hate him, ...).

3. Uke was not psychologically hurt by the act. (Depression / terrified to go outside / doesn't feel safe / sad / ...)

4. Uke fall in love with the guy soon after

MOST OF THE TIME, if these 3 conditions were met, i'm just like "well...he didn't really suffer from it and he didnt even see the seme as a bad person, on the contrary he loves the seme." I just assume that the uke didn't realize his feelings for the seme and so even if he didn't dislike the sex, he still says "stop" but not much else.

But honestly...i think these authors needs to learn more about gay sex. The majority of the authors base their knosledge of gay sex on old school yaoi and that's really sad. Sorry for the late reply school just started but I agree with that. I recently read this manga where there’s this dude in the yakuza who literally group rapes omegas and he records them with his friends.
