I've never thought about this pronunciation I've been saying it as "easy" this whole time
ohhh. ive been reading his name as "ice" as in ice cube. i mean the FL mentioned in the first few chapters that the author of the novel had a propensity to name the characters after food, thus her name "maise" as in corn, hazelnut. and it follows that the MLs name is food related as well.
and "y" is often pronounced as "i", as "s" and "c" are also interchangeable thus YSE = ICE
