what do the flowers in joowon’s bouquet mean?

the flowers that joowon got for haesoo can have multiple meanings but these are the ones that i felt made the most sense in this situation:

marigolds - despair and grief over the loss of love, winning the affections of someone through hard work, jealousy
white roses - young love and eternal loyalty, new beginnings and everlasting love (which is why it is also associated with marriages)

i just KNOW the author picked these flowers bc of their meaning, they like to use so much poeticism and symbolism i makes sense haha.
