I think it was just a misleading first chapter, it just made her out to be kinda bad. Not necessarily everyone's fault for assuming what happened based on the info we had
honestly, it was probably intentional since it was the first chapter, to keep people interested as to why the ml thinks he's not handsome, why they got together, or question why mc has that way of thinking but it is also not enough to draw a conclusion that an mc is manipulative of some kind as again, it was just the first chapter
lol remember when the first chapter was released and everyone was saying how MC was manipulative for not reassuring him for being handsome and only likes ML for the looks? Ahh good times
