May be the chef is 'Hideyoshi', since Hideyoshi is neither male nor female.
It got me too. I hope the chef is a female so je won't be seen as a lolicon. There's also a hint that they're her destined ones.

Is the cheff male or female? Man, I was so hyped when I thought he was a guy to at least balance it a little since his companions are cute lil girls. Then that one chapter that used “she” got me like??? Which is it??
