Its not that it doesn't feel right but just that the process of soul merging is kinda confusing... Though it was originally Li Zhu's body, after their soul became one it was more like the previous owner of the body (I forgot the name) disappeared and its kinda sad...

Yes, I feel the same! Like I know it is the same person but still it feels like the old version of him died.. :(

There is no previous owner of the body. Li Zhu's soul is reincarnated/reborn as baby Ye Li. But since Li Zhu is a deity his spiritual power is too strong for his physical body so Ye Li's teacher sealed some part of his soul/memory. The seal made him become souless/emotionless.

Li Zhu/Ye Li is suppossed to gradually awaken his sealed soul as he cultivate and strengthen his physical body. At the beginning of this story, Ye Li is already live for hundreds years and actually he start to show emotions little by little, an indication that his body is strong enough for his soul and he will fully awaken soon.

Hmm this makes sense... But I kinda miss the emotionless Ye Li... Though they are the same person Ye Li was kinda different from this full of emotions/Li Zhu...

Honestly I'm more interested in Ye Li too. Li Zhu and Ye Li are probably the same at the core but they experienced very different life, meet different people.. it shaped them as a person differently and it shows. But, I don't think Ye Li will suddenly change after the soul merging (I hope).
