Okay but like...that's what toxic relationships and trauma can do to a person? Especially when it's more emotional and mental manipulation. You see this plenty in reality where abusers are defended by their victims because, surprisingly, being abused (even if it's mental/emotional manipulation) affects how you view the world around you.
Honestly, he is better than a lot of ML in these type of scenarios in that he does believe in our FL, where as most others would have actually probably forgotten everything that happened and take it out on the FL.

Honestly, I think there was a miscommunication in what I originally said, because I meant ML's in a situation where their side lady's bad actions have come out to the world, but they choose to be ignorant/deny it and will then try to blame everyone else around them (usually mostly the FL) for lying to them and pinning the blame on them. That's what I meant in terms of being better. He's not denying what Rosamund did nor is he trying to completely remove her from blame and punishment. But he doesn't want her dying, even if it would be the appropriate punishment. Which, even with their scheming, is still understandable if this is a person he loves. Yeah she's shit and he should be more responsible than that, but then people don't always do that - especially if they are in love with someone. And given that it seems like the narrative is going to address how what he did was shitty, even with his trauma, I feel positively about his progression as a character and where it's going.
I guess my overall point is that his trauma doesn't justify or excuse his actions, but it does give insight into why he acts this way. Like, I don't expect someone whose parents used him & each other like tools and whose one redeeming relationship (from his POV) is a toxic af to reliably make good decisions regarding himself or other people. Again this doesn't justify it, but I can understand it.

The ML is not bad at all, he is actually thinking and he's relationship with rosebitch is probably toxic, at least he is not that kind of Zero IQ ML who thinks the Mc always hurt the concubine or he thinks her like a villainess who will interfere both of them because the mc wants affection or love.
This ML respected the Mc as a Queen, He knows that roaebitch is wrong, He said that she can punish rosebitch.
