I guess, it's connected to her wanting to go by the name of "L".

She will save her life, and then she will use her as a pawn in this game of chess. I suposse she will be her voice and eyes in all of her plans, building a spider-web so, while Veronica will remain as a stupid and helpless noble, she will get connections, allies and money, to bring Veronica's house down without them realising.
