I think in this manhua it is because the only reason why yiwen is the empress is because she married the emperor before he became emperor and her aunt is the empress dowager. As we know as of current the empress dowager does not really love yiwen so she doesn't have her support and the emperor doesn't have enough power to support yiwen and even if he does other nobles would be upset. Yiwen doesn't come from an influential family either. Many of the concubines have backing from their families who are very powerful and thus, they have a good standing in the harem. If Yiwen was married to the emperor after he was crowned then she wouldn't be empress or a high ranking concubine. She only has her current rank because she married the emperor first.
