Man, I just love how this manhwa illustrates how consensual BDSM is way hotter than rape/unconsensual BDSM.

But also, a part of me realllyyyyy hopes that the author doesn't go down the path of "the uke was abused in the past and now he is into BDSM as a way to deal with that abuse." I just feel this trope is so damaging because a desire for BDSM does not stem from past abuse for most people!

Being in the community and never lived that kind of abuse, I agree with you. It's honestly just fun and giggles (ok also screams) for most of us.

Exactly. I've never been abused a day in my life (aside from some bullying when I was younger, but I had my preferences before that). So like, I don't know why there's this misconception that the only people into BDSM are people who have suffered some sort of awful abuse???

as much as i would love for the author to not go through that route .. i feel like IF the author did go through that route it would be kinda comforting to those who did go through abuse & found normalcy & a way of coping with their ptsd through BDSM (like me) ,,, i’m not really that good with words but yeah. if the author goes through this plot line i just hope they portray it as something positive and healthy coping mechanism. i also don’t like that bs misconception where ONLY abuse survivors like bdsm n all that ,, but yea haha i hope u get what i’m trying to say

You're right. I was about to say "There's some others with bdsm for the genre". But on second thought it may be the only one that reunite : safe word, consent, comprehensive seme, non-shitty uke.

I'm happy for this new point of view ! Thank you

Blood bank. The buildup is slow but the characters fall in love and build trust and there is also a plot that actually has all sorts of deeper twists and there’s very little familial interaction and there is in fact chains and whips (what I call SM) but there is also vanilla sex (much later in the series) which is why I love Blood Bank. The Seme has secrets of his own and the Uke is a cute little Jellybean with mild abandonment issues which is not family related. (also it’s a vampire BL if the title wasn’t a giveaway)

By the way the seme is the one who begrudgingly consents not the uke.
