I dunno i mean, that's also his life, obviously similar to animals who have the innate sense to breed to live on his race have the innate drive to find a master, and if they can't they might as well be dead, which is what he wants and the choice is hers, i don't think Irene is particularly empathetic to the point she would do something she really hates just to save someone she doesn't even know, and after all she seems pretty happy to have another life companion with her, but that's just my opinion too :)

Yeah I feel what you’re saying but I’m a huge stickler for consent and that oath he’s projecting on her is not really consensual especially when her past life clearly stated she didn’t want the oath but she didn’t want him to die. And I’m sure Irene doesn’t hate it, she’s just taken back but even if she did hate it Irene would not watch an innocent man die in front of her, she’d want to do something about it. I’m glad she’s pretty happy about adding a new person to the gang but I was more criticizing this grown ass adult more than anything. To me it just feels like grooming, this grown ass adult taking advantage of a situation where she can’t say no but hopefully he’s doesn’t do any more sketch stuff and is nice to Irene. Also sorry this was so long and serious for no reason, I’m just a huge advocate for consent.

Yeah it's ok i understand, of course i also know 5 years ago maybe 10 max people didn't even know what grooming or consent meant...not saying that's a good thing but i kind of get this feeling like we're now brainwashed into believing the worst of people and we really stress the meanings of those words and as someone who has actually studied child grooming it's not really what i would consider applicable in this setting, but then a lot of people have a different view, but grooming is a lead up to sexual issues and i don't see this guy as that at all.
PLUS everyone and anyone always has the chance to say no that is something we are taught from the earliest age now...and as a demon kings daughter i don't think she'd have any worry about it personally but then at the end of the day this is a manga and i don't let it get to me that much, i mean there's been some manga soooo much worse than this i've stumbled on like 2 or 3 that I've literally had to walk away from but in those cases the characters were not fantasy settings and..the situations were not light.
Anyone else annoyed at this Ren guy? Like his past master Erin literally told him she didn’t want him to be bonded to her by some oath and to treat his life more preciously and the first thing he does when he sees a reincarnation of Erin is to make that stupid oath again. Erin didn’t want it, Irene didn’t want it but they had to say yes or he would die. So yeah the guy is annoying
