basically the current “penelope” and the original penelope are the same person, they share the same soul. however, because the magician dude kept rewinding time over and over again only for penelope to get hurt by “her family” her soul couldn’t bear the pain and it broke. so because her soul broke, a piece of her soul wandered into a different world, which is the korean world she just lived.
