i think in the 'past' life he grew accustomed to her but when she was found out to be a "fake" he probably thought she was playing him. in this 'new' life it already shows us that hes just a shitty no emotion character (just like claude u fking hypocrites) but he knows (past n future) that shes more than capable of herself so he never bothered.
also just like yall hating on the blue haired prince (abandoned empress) these characters werent shown thru a 1st per pov, so u probably only got one side (from the victim's). its only the beginning and their character hasnt been fully developed :3 just know that shit happened n thats why they act a certain way.
remember that the MC's reincarnate/time thingies and change, so these other characters will change too
dont be so harsh bc in the 'new' lives the other characters arent aware of the shitty things they did in the 'past'
"to forgive but never forget" helps the mindset of u big ol character haters uwu <3

That was a lot to comprehend, but for the most part I kinda agree. Because the father has been having dreams of the past I think it has made him a little more aware of his daughter, but I will be very pissed if cossette(I think that's her name?) Comes and he still takes her side.(though if he does, seeing him proven wrong will be very satisfying) Also, about the character haters, I think the author does it on purpose, like they make the protagonist and the antagonist and while everyone hates on the antagonist, they never know how they became that way until the author shows their background. Though ofc there are a few vain and aggravating antagonists who don't even have a valid reason for their cruelty other than they can do whatever they want without repercussions, but even then it can be because they just want attention because they were neglected when they were young
