They probably mean that the emperor is a jerk in the past life and we are gonna read how he changes in this life so we are gonna be in yet another war of hating him vs hating him less
you misunderstood me. i meant in the sense that the female lead is going to fall in love with somebody who had her brutally murdered, not that the author plagiarized it. and the author of a.e. started a format trend where this author is also using it as an outline to create her own story. i think that making women fall in love with their oppressors/murderers is distasteful and a sure way to have fans complain and get mad, so oh well.
