It does! Like how are you going to say ''i'm not into men'' while confessing your love to a man? I get that it's probably to show that they don't normally go for dudes and that their crush is an exception and whatnot, but the crush is still... a man... even if they are an exception, your crush still identifies as a dude so who you trying to play? Just embrace it
