Can someone help me get straight the "sake" who hated demons and killed them to the "sake" who joined Aoi and started saving them.

Hanae seemed to get there are two versions of sake. Teenage one and adult one.

I don't understand. If he hated them, then how did he changed to help them? This chapters shows that he still hates them.

Please help.

i don't know either, but there are obviously pieces of information and moments/scenes that we are missing. Based on my past experiences with mangas with a similar story line / character development, there was probably a moment where a demon saved Sakae. Then he had some sort of epiphany that not all demons want to kill humans. Or something along those lines.
    Hopefully, that helps. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

the one who hates demons is the "past sakae". however that past sakae isn't actually SAKAE, it's just a manifestation of his influence. after sakae joined the mononokean, he never used his influence again. since thats when he probably changed from hating demons to not hating them, this teenage sakae doesn't have the memories of not hating demons.

So something happened for him to not hate demons so he joined the mononokean.

Did his influence separate from him or something?

... Sakae used his influence only once as an adult to try and cure Aoi's parasite curse. Since he transferred all his influence to AOi, his body disappeared. Sakae the person is dead and has no physical remains. Aoi tries to transfer Sakae's influence to Hanae, but something happened and it failed partway so Hanae has half and Aoi has the other half. Aoi (when her curse progressed too much) goes to "die" in the forest and before she loses all her senses, she transforms the rest of Sakae's influence in her into a butterfly so that it prevent people from approaching her cursed form.

Hanae and Abeno go to forest and find this strange yellow butterfly, Hanae grabs the butterfly to keep it from escaping, but that causes it to fuse with the other half of Sakae's influence. Hanae now has 100% of Sakae's influence.

Why does the Sakae in Hanae look like HS Sakae? The reasoning provided is that since Sakae the human only used his influence to kill demons when he was young, he most likely stopped using it when he became an employee of the Mononokean. So since his influence lay dormant and unused in him until his death, it has no memories of anything that happened after the period when Sakae (the human) stopped using. His influence version only has fragmented memories of the past.
