I'm happy for her. I think one of the many reasons for her turning down the dukedom was because she wasn't brought up to be heir. She could've possibly thought she wasn't worthy of such a title just because of what happened to her and because of her father's legacy. I think she wants to create a name for herself, whether it is through noble society or commoner society. And she decides to do it with the man she loves. I think it's very admirable of her to still try and take up the challenges of being a noble. But she may think that she isn't ready to lead a whole dukedom on her own and thus, she decides to help her beloved to rule instead. Of course, this is just my opinion. Avery in my eyes, would always be ready to lead the people. But being a good leader and a good ruler are two different things. One may be a good leader in things like teamwork and unity but being a good ruler is to be able to handle the pressure of not only taking care of the people, but the land as well. That comes with experience and knowledge which Avery does not have, being raised as a commoner.

^^^ Yes! So many people complaining about her turning down the title, when she has no knowledge about how to manage the dukedom. The reason she turned down the marriage at first was because of her common upbringing and lack of knowledge as to how navigate the noble life. This is the logical extension of her previous decision! IT'S NOT JUST FOR A MAN, OKAY?

Trueeee if we put it in the context of real life, it's like making a woman into a governor. It'll be amazing for her because she'll be the "first woman" to be a governor but it won't be so amazing for the people that she will rule over. Even if she has the character of a good leader it just won't work. Try being the ceo of a company without training. For sure that company will go bankrupt in a heartbeat. The employees will lose their job and they will suffer. She is still a noble nonetheless and her grandfather is still there to guide whoever becomes duke/duchess if he/she ever makes a mistake. I think everything is falling into its right plave honestly.
Still mad with Avery tbh. Avery would have had the dukedom in her hands, the first female Duchess and she turned it down for Albert... a man :(
I understand why but I'm still mad.
