I totally agree with you--and don't get me wrong, I love the series, but I keep constantly thinking, "did I miss something??? Am I stupid and forgot who these characters are?" Or did they just introduce the character in a fashion that implies that you should already know who they are?
at the same time that I believe that switching the perspectives and POV adds more mystery and draw out to certain character's stories, I also don't feel as connected to the characters when I'm not around them as long (maybe I just want some more kaneki)
And it could be my kaneki fan girl talking, but if they followed the flow of the original TG, it would improve my experience more I think--I want to spend more time with these characters!!

I see what you mean when you say that the switching of PoV adds to mystery and adds to a character's story but, it occurs a little too much which in my opinion kind of stalls the progression of the plot. But you do make a great point.
Again, I agree. Basically the main characters have a few chapters then it just switches all of a sudden. The connection with the characters is kind of dull because I think that we don't really capture the feelings/mood very well within those few chapters. (Maybe Kaneki not showing is the reason. Lol (•ᴗ•))
I actually thought that TG:re would follow the same story outline as TG. (How the main focus was on Kaneki with little side character chapters). But I was really thrown into a loop when I read so many different plots happening in just a few chapters spaces from the main plot.
The newest chapter out today seems to be going better with flow--it may be because there is a lot of reference to TG and characters from kaneki's storyline. It's like as soon as we get into the investigators in :Re, it's a free for all, but when it comes to -most- of the ghouls, the story is more understandable.
Maybe because I made such a connection with the TG characters and got to know them so well, that I can remember them better or something
After several days of incorrect/confusing updates, I am still lost with the storyline. Chapter 36 just added another character to the list.
In my opinion I don't think that the plot is getting anywhere at the moment. Rephrasing my previous comment, the PoV's are constantly changing leaving the plot inconsistent. It's harder to follow than the first TG.
Side stories, plot gaps, time jumping, etc. ε= (-。- )
