Err, people who are reincarnated are not supposed to have their past memories? Hence they become a new/different person?
I don't get it, isn't that supposed to be issue here? Because she remembers her past that she can't accept him because it reminds her of the tragic ex and that she had lived way longer in total count than him which made them in a different mindset.
I feel like I'm trying to follow a direction on a poorly roundabout drawn map. Whatever.

Sometimes I think the authors have some sort of masochistic tendencies or are brainwashed to always forgive men as long they are hyper attractive + desirable regardless of their shitty personalities.
Doctor Elise and The Abandoned Empress are another example where I also question their logic and definition of love.
I understand that the execution of the MC Elise by the order of ML was very justified because she was an evil bitch. But what I can't comprehend is that the narrative make the ML suddenly becomes curious and suddenly falls in love with the reformed FL who literally becomes a saint in the new timeline even though he was never interested in her as a woman in the original timeline and new Elise made the decision to let go of ML/forced fiance/husband.
Apparently the message is, if you become a nice innocent good girl you get the emotional unavaible brooding cold boy. Oh my, I ve seen that trope in so many Hollywood productions!
Aristia from The Abandoned Empress suffers from PTSD and had the determination to become more empowered and liberated after years of mistreatment, abuse, rape + finally death by the ML who is literally an arrogant incompetent manchild suffering under an inferior complex. Just because he was drugged and manipulated by someone else doesn't excuse his behaviour towards FL! While rewinded Tia works very hard to become stronger, the ML keeps bothering her despite still traumatized by his past actions until she is wore down. Because of ML's attention to her she becomes naturally the target of evil jealous bitches.
Message: She does all the hard work and sufferings, at the same time she unintentionally changes that shitbag of a ML to become a better shinier person...
So it's the girl's job to change the boy no matter what - Another cliche that also exists in Hollywood!
If the MC comes from another world/dimension, possess a originally very heinous villainess bitch and the ML is very endearing; that I can accept.
"Survive as the Hero's Wife"
Was also disgusted with that story because it reminds of my younger years where I wasted so much time on many shitty men. Not anymore since 2017. I also took the initiative to either get away from them or having the last word for good.
Ignoring Mental issues and preserving patriarchal conservatism still prevails in Asia.
I am sorry to hear what your own brother did to you.
I am hoping that you are healing and still getting better.
I also hope that your brother will deserve all the worst things in the world.
You are not alone. I have depressions and the wish of an early peaceful death.
I highly recommend a support group, whenever you can afford a therapist or not. Maybe you already are in a good one that fits you.
Here is a Spanish movie with eng sub about women getting away with murder of predatory men and having a nice ending:

I don’t get you ? Theodore never tortured Martina, his brother did - after she lost her purpose ‘revenge) he could easily have her die, but instead he gave her a title, a name and by doing so a reason to live
They both were victims of his family abuse and his brother
They both did not chose their life and he probably could never get over his family’s way (betrayal, power struggle, etc ) and could never be strong enough to be a king or love a descendant of the witch people who killed his family (no legitimacy to marry her)
We don’t know the reasons for his depression but he certainly was weak hearted : that’s certainly bad, but how is it abuse toward her ?
It is quite the soap opera logic that Martina has to fall in love with the brother of her abusing rapist/mortal enemy. And she had to kill him because of some stupid personal dramatic reason he ordered/forced her to execute him.
I wouldn't be surprise that his downfall is due to a dumb misunderstanding or that he ve never really gotten the love from Martina he so desired...
I am well aware of what Theodore has done for Martina. Who said he was abusive towards her? Don't put false words in my mouth.
Would have been enough to stay as friends or friendly allies. Even the teacher and the whole class found it ridiculous that Martina loved Theodore in chapter 4.
But do these two really need to end up together?
He was killed by her and she was deeply hurt by him. And now fate has brought these two reinacarnated fools together.
My point was that it is quite messed up that a FL falls in love again with the ML who mistreated and killed her.
In Astina/Martina's case she killed her lover/ML in the first past life. And reincarnated ML develops feelings for his past murderer.
I am not sure, if it generally allright be with someone who killed you for whatever reasons.
Ooohh!! I see, I was so confused what you were talking abt. But I think in some cases since this is a fantasy story, I think what its trying to show is that the power of love yk? also its unclear what the context of the past was so until we rlly know everything, I think they’re fine but that’s just my opinion
Another trope that I also can't understand. MC decides to become self-empowered and suddenly her shit family + ex-fiance become interested in her...
I mean there is some truth about this trope. If you become suddenly independent stronger those miserable parasites around you become nervous and perplex.
I ve just read the NovelUpdate Spoilers about 'I dont love you anymore' and damn the MC has become self-efficient assertive winner after years of mistreatment from all sides!
https://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/i-don%E2%80%99t-love-you-anymore-spoilers.99253/
That novel "I don't want to be loved!" is really so much worse than "I don't love you anymore".
The FL's independence and self-empowerment is heavily underminded by her past husband/ML/asshole who also remembers the first timeline and force her to become his wife again - Trope: ML loved FL the whole time but due to his own misunderstandings he mistreats her and lets her suffer. Her half-sister killed her but his negligence and stupidity was also a major factor to her death (╬ ̄皿 ̄)
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/i-dont-want-to-be-loved/

I really dislike the trope where the tortured FL falls in love and end up again with the shitty ML who executed her for whatever absurd reasons in the first life.
And I don't like the argument that the ML(cause of FL's misery) is different in the second timeline; that's why he gets an easier pass and gets the girl at the end...
Even though the MC/FL is the one who did most of the hard work and enduring all the sufferings to change things around her in any timelines.
Don't stay with the toxic Alphahole who is responsible for your painful death!
That is why I have conflicted feelings about this story "The Lady and the Beast".
Here we have a great badass FL ruler who killed the man/king she once trusted and loved. She died of old age and gets reborn over a hundred years later with all of her past memories.
She decided to move on but then meets the ML who is very likely the reincarnation of the man without the memories who betrayed her and was unintentionally cursed by her. The ML falls in love with her and after lots of rejection, denial and drama FL confess her love for the man who has the same face of her once beloved King who ordered/pushed her to kill him...
I don't know what I should really think about this complicated mess of a emotional rollercoaster. There is the debate, if he/ML/Duke and the King of FL's former life are still considered the same person in that universe.
Assuming She never had real closure and maybe thats why she was fated to meet the reincarnated ML with a different personality...
Why should these two souls even be together at all?
