you don't get it?! ask any victim of it and get a clue. let me tell you something. the reason why rape is common many genres of manga is because in shitty japan rape is not taken seriously. I was a human rights member of various orgs for over 15 years. and one of the biggest problems in japan is in fact rape. even the law system don't care about them. japan is pretty much backwards socially. they stick up to many crappy thoughts from hundreds of years old. and japan being a society that shame and stereotype, victims are forced to shut up. when I read comments stupid and ignorant like yours it infuriates me, because you are practically supporting the lack of empathy rape victims suffer in japan. and the lbgt is worst. don't say you aren't normal, thats an insult to unique people, you're just a non empathic ignorant person who has no clues about rape. if you think rape spice it up these sick mangas, you have a very fucked up view of sex. many says this is fiction but little they know that fiction is influenced from reality. you can google and see some of the dirt japan tries to cover up.

I AGREE 100%! I will never understand why people would think that rape is something positive/hot in a manga, I get angry every time it appears and it's even worse when readers just says "it's fiction", "it's the yaoi-world", "don't take it so seriously" and so on. You should never promote rape anywhere, in that way people become more tolerable of rape and even hopes for such scenes in mangas/yaoi.

Just so you know I am not ignorant of the secrets governments hides. I am not some naive girl okay. Although I tolerate rape in manga that is only in fiction not the real world. Okay fine I am a horrible person for being non empathetic. And my view of fictional sex is fucked up. But guess what these manga werent really influenced from reality as they are mangakkas' own imagination they put down on paper.

People don't like it because rape is not a positive thing. Rape = love is bullshit, that's why people don't like it. Sure, maybe some people can tolerate it because it's just fictional, but I still don't understand why people would prefer rape before consensual sex. Just because it's fictional doesn't mean people have to like it. It's for the same reason people don't like cheating in manga. It's not hard to understand.

Here we go again. Rape in yaoi is a metaphor. It's not meant to represent real world rape, which operates on a completely different dynamic. The ravishment fantasy is highly normative and has been around forever, expressing important psychological needs, particularly for women. Literature for women that features rape provides a safe place for them to explore the needs the fantasy expresses. Give female readers credit for understanding the difference between the ravishment fantasy and real world rape and don't violate that safe space with your disapproval. Don't like it? Don't read it.

It is not true that Japan does not take rape seriously, of course they do. In the past 5 10 years they have changed their laws to reflect that and they offer more ways to report the crime. Bashing Japan has become a in these days. Is rape still a prob. ? yes as it is in other places. Manga did not invent it. Look at India, Middle East. Europe, rape is a prob. universally. Yet the UN and others would have you believe only certain countries are to blame for all that is wrong . In some of those countries woman still don't have the right to refuse. A lot of hating on Japan.

the only change in Japan came from a foreign rape victim that helped with the organizations that give support and relief to the victims because it the only places they can go for support. but their law system hasn't changed. fiction are invented stories influenced from real life. the difference in Japan is that plenty of people in its society don't see it as bad. (Japan was literally isolated from the rest of the world for hundreds of years and open up a bit after the meiji restoration). rape is condemned only when its committed by stranger and if it affects more than the victim. the other places in the world people see rape as it is, a crime. like I said was a member with various human rights orgs for over 15 years and I KNOW very well about the dirts from most countries in the world. I don't need the UN to tell me because human rights supporters know more than the UN. I freaking worked with it. the UN has big dirts themselves like covering up human traffik in certain areas of the world which I'll not mention here. a fun fact: many manga/anime fans are simply fanatical people in their worst ages of childhood and young adults who believe whatever it suits their point of views. in fact they don't know at all the real Japan and its society. gladly many have conscience and are calling out the wrongs withing it...

It's less the manga that's the problem because as you say it's a fantasy and more the comments being made.

I agree, I was a rape victim myself and I understand that I am lucky to live in the US, however the man who raped me didn't get a long enough sntence. In fact he was bailed out and then he tried to rape me again. I think countries like japan and others in asia and europe need to get their heads out of their asses and realise that it wasn't the victims fault. Being raped is the scariest thing on earth and it hurts like hell, so I back you up completely.
