Jeanette/Jennette

Jeanette is a character who was sheltered throughout her childhood as the adults in her life kept her secret. They did not want her connection to the royal family to come out that could lead to difficulties in their plans for her. Her idea of family has been warped to the point she believes that no matter what the circumstances are, her ‘real’ family will love her once they know the truth of her birth. Jeanette is ignorant to the fact that the truth she was given is a scheme thought up by Roger (Ijekiels Father) and Rosalia (Jeanettes aunt).

Her mother, Penelope allowed her father Anastacius to perform an experiment with black magic on her to conceive a child that could match Claude in power. Penelope dies wishing for Jeanette to grant her dream of becoming empress. This plan fails however, as Jeanette is unable to use any abilities, outside of the overwhelming need for love she feels. Which is so strong by the way that it manifested into a type of power, it’s just not one she can actively or defensively use.

She is however born with jewel eyes.

Jewel eyes can only be born to those of the imperial bloodline and there has been no evidence that they can be faked up to this point. The closest to information we have is the character named Aeternitas, who was a King from a couple hundred years ago whose jewel eyes were duller, but he was still of the royal lineage.

At this time we do not know how exactly Jeanette was raised outside of the obvious manipulation. We can not say for sure whether she has attempted to investigate her birth or not. Still she knows for a fact she is of royal descent because of her eyes. The most she could find out, if she had any reason to doubt the words of her trusted Aunt, would have to do with the Anastacius. This would pertain to his life and death, though I wonder how much information she would be able to gather as he is of the imperial family. Currently she does not have someone in her life who is willing to share memories or help her learn of her birth mother, so I don’t know how she would gather this.

Eventually Jeanette meets Anastacius who is a guest in her adoptive guardians’ home. He is careful to only show her kindness as she will be a necessary pawn in his plans. He gains her trust quickly as Jeanette is someone who has little reason to be suspicious of others. She’s been raised closed off and compared to Roger, who she has said before she feels distant from, he is someone who allows for her to express her wants without judgement. Its also important to note Jeanette and Anastacius have met multiple times at this point and they live in the same house. There relationship is at the point where Anastacius also feels affected by his daughter even though he was not there for her growing up.

As a child you may have heard, ‘if you kiss someone on the mouth you will get pregnant’. This is a lie often told by guardians to scare/prevent children from trying to do things they don’t find appropriate for that age.

It’s not your fault for being unaware of the truth or even believing it. As a child you are impressionable and easily deceived. The adult in your life as far as you are concerned at that point in time means no harm to you. So why would you suspect them of ill intents? Better yet why would you feel the need to do research when in your own innocent ways trust this person. While I can’t speak for everyone, I don’t know any 14 year old who has down background checks on there guardians. (This is outside of abusive households or school projects)

When a child is forced by there guardian to do something that we know is wrong, the act of blame is put on the adult. Not the child. Nor do we expect for the child to correct the actions of the adult.

Jeanette is currently 14 years old. Easily influenced by whatever emotions comes through her, and I do believe we have or are approaching jealously. Which was something Anastacius himself had to deal with. Those negative thoughts eventually lead him to hurting his own brother, when really his own lack of self-loved stemmed from his mother.

But okay you still blame Jeanette for everything that happens while carrying this immense hate for her. Let’s look at Athy then. Not our Athy but the Athy of the first timeline.

She meets Claude at the age of 9 in the original novel and recognizes him as her father. But he does not feel anything for her as his emotions at this time have been completely locked away. Athy who is now aware of her father’s existence tries to become closer to him, but Claude is closed off from her. She continuously pushes herself to try and prove she’s worthy to be her daughter. Desperately trying to gain his love but is unable to do so. Despite the neglect from her father, when Jeanette comes into the home Athy treats her with kindness and loves her like a sister. She feels jealous watching Jeanette gain her father’s approval but does not blame Jeanette. She is aware that its her father who refuses to accept.

Is this Athys fault?

Does Athy sound naïve to you for clinging to someone who doesn’t love her?

Are you blaming Athy for being unloved by her father?

Maybe you expect Athy to double check whether Claude is her birth father seeing as he doesn’t act like it?

Yep, and the four people who are actually to blame for all of this (Roger, Rosalia, Penelope, Anastacius) never seem to be brought up. Unless of course its about how hot Anastacius is.

I seen someone say why isn’t she smart like Athy, not those exact words but the same meaning, completely ignorant to the fact Jeanette’s 14 and Athy, love her, but she’s been reincarnated and is literally an adult. Athy was born with spoilers. Σ( ̄□ ̄||)
