She isn't fake right? She is the biological daughter of the current emperor, the original FL is the former Emperor's daughter so they are basically cousins. But why in the original story line they tell she was a fake? She is also royal blood. And she herself can become the empress. I mean the original FL is an illegitimate child of the previous emperor, the MC is a legimate successor.
