In any case, Pauliana ends up getting engaged to chubs, but somehow it comes out that he's a rotten bastard (I don't know why he is, I just know that We Don't Like Him, and after Pauliana learns of his true nature, neither does she). So she DOES NOT end up marrying chubs.
Somewhere along the way, she has a one night stand with the emperor, gets pregnant, runs away, Lucius has to chase after her to bring her back (cause she never actually TOLD him she was even pregnant), and Lucius recognizes their son as his heir. The end :)
