Don’t even know if it was a manga

I’m looking for this story where a person (I don’t remember the gender) stopped talking and became mute or began wearing a mask because their mother or childhood friend (I’m not sure..) said that everything that came out of their mouth is foul/bad. I think MC is the one helping them overcome it.

Was it that one yaoi where the uke started wearing a mask because when he was a kid, he told a girl she was ugly and now he's afraid of taking off his mask because he might say something bad to someone?

I’m sorry, I really do not remember.. what’s the title of the one you described? I may be able to recognize it from the cover or title.

this is a total shot in the dark, but your description reminds me of the movie, kokoro ga sakebitagatterunda (the anthem of the heart)

    here’s the synopsis!

“Jun Naruse is a chatterbox whose life is colored by fairy tales and happy endings. However, influenced by her deep belief in those tales, she is too naive and trusting, and her words soon shatter her family's bond when she inadvertently reveals her father's affair. Naruse is scarred for life after being blamed for her parent's divorce, and her regrets soon manifest into a fairy egg—a being who seals her mouth from speaking in order to protect everyone's happy ending.

Now, even in high school, Naruse's speech remains locked by the fairy egg. Even trying to speak causes her stomach to twist. Though unable to convey her thoughts through words, she is unexpectedly chosen to perform in a musical alongside three other students: Takumi Sakagami, Natsuki Nitou, and Daiki Tasaki. Naruse makes her way to the club room to reject the daunting task, but changes her mind when she overhears Sakagami's beautiful singing.

Perhaps the fairy egg ‘curse’ does not apply to singing, and perhaps Sakagami is the fairy tale prince she has been seeking all along. Will Naruse be able to convey the anthem of her heart?”

it’s prob not it tho, but i hope you can find it soon (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

I just want to say woooooow. The description is really interesting. I haven’t watched it yet so it isn’t the one I was looking for, but it’s a very good recommendation with the same theme. I’ll try to watch it today. Thanks for trying to help out! ^^
