i think that if you let out thousands of titans to destroy a single place you’d be safe, nobody would attack you if you had that type of power; and the only people who know how to kill a titan are the people in the walls- SO IN THE END HE DOSENT HAVE TK DO IT TO THIS EXTENT, HE DIDNT HAVE TO HURT HIS COLLEAGUES AND IN THE END THEIR HOME IS DESTROYED BECAUSE OF HIS ACTIONSnot gonna bring ethics into this because it’s fiction but he was against his mother dying but proceeded to kill so many other people and when he finally realized why his father did it he’s kinda like ‘pog’ so yeah i’m a wee bit mad about eren’s character in general

ok, well try to think a little beyond that.
If Eren only partially destroys the world then wowie the world will just be even MORE determined to annihilate Paradis, and will believe in Willy and unite. The hatred and fear against Eldians will exponentially increase, the cycle of hate will continue. Paradis will have no hope for diplomacy and international relationships, and will become even more behind on technology. they will be stuck hiding in the walls again and it's the same thing all over again, ppl having to worry when the walls will be broken and when they will die. The whole point of Eren's rumbling is the annihilate the cycle of hate, to create a world where ppl can live and be born without worrying abt some bad history.
yes, Eren knows he is wrong lol. He literally hates himself and thinks hes a monster, even before choosing to do the rumbling (by seeing his memories).

Oh hunny don't twist my words. I never chose a side. The whole point of AOT is getting perspectives and that's what i do- I try to understand what everyone does what they do. Understanding Eren is something that bring in a lot of value to the story. I don't agree with his actions, but I do get why he does it. On a consequential standpoint, obviously Zeke is the "better" plan even if it's also very morally unjustifiable as well. For us it's easy to be like "haha well let them die!" unfortunately, for Eren the scouts are his literal friends and family, so he can't be quite as cold as you can, sorry.

the cycle of hate would end but now eren has created a cycle of fear; he’s gotten rid of the immediate problem but who’s to say when all of this is over the scouts will need resources or allies. the first king wiped everyone’s memories so they wouldn’t have to even think about outside the wall, but in a few hundred years let’s say that civilization comes back. yes the cycle of hate has stopped but eren hasn’t shown the people inside the wall to stop hating either; he’s destroyed their homes and he’s show everyone that they have a common enemy, in the long run he’s really just going to create more violence and he’s not even being portrayed as a leader he’s being portrayed as a selfish weapon. and saying he has no other way out isnt the solution either; with his new found powers he could definitely communicate with his people and not have to kill tens of millions of people; he didn’t think this thru enough and i don’t think he understands the costs of human lives either. he understands how much pain he was in when his mother died but still won’t share that same empathy for others- my point still stands no character development can fix him at this point just kill him<3 if you have another veiw that’s cool but i still think what he’s doing is unethical

what he's doing is very unethical and unjustifiable of course.
honestly, we haven't even gotten his full POV or plan yet. Maybe he plans to somehow take the power of titans away.
How will he create more violence tho? If the rumbling were to succeed (im sure it wont tho), Eldians would finally be free from the walls and the cycle of hate. Why would the scouts need resources or allies? They've been doing just fine for 100 yrs by themselves. I do agree with that Eren's actions are tragically ironic because even though it's to end hate and free the ppl of paradis, it is done through such brutality and cruelty (which is why it won't succeed imo), but given the circumstances he didn't really have a choice.
Eren thought this through for years, it's not really our place as readers to act like a messiah with an all-white, moral, perfect solution, we don't even know what memories he specifically got. For 4 yrs, he tried to cheat his own fate, tried to find a reason to believe the future he saw wasn't the only option. He tried finding another solution, and he even talked to Eldians in Marley. The fact that the attack on Liberio was strategically a very good move (Armin even admits it) and that Eren has been planning and influencing everything from the starts proves that yes, he has actually thought about this, and he has a very deep knowledge about the world, more than anyone else, even the readers.
Eren will likely die, no one, not even me, are expecting a "redemption arc". Reiner got one but Eren won't. It's just you make him sound like a stupid evil guy, which dumb downs his character.
He does "empathize" with others, he says "we're all the same", he knows humanity outside the walls are innocents and victims as well, even though they were part of the reason Eldians in Paradis have been living for years as titan food. That's why he didnt want to do the rumbling, which is a last resort. But even still, even though he has a deep understanding, he just wants his friends to live.
Honestly I see Eren as the biggest victim of the story, he has an accumulation of horrible memories and knowledge about the cycle of hate. I think it's sad that you're so cold LOL but ok just my opinion.

yeah i get your point, i still think that history will repeat itself and violence just leads to more violence just like how eren’s ‘titan awakening’ was caused by violence and a goal of destruction that’s exactly what happened. and i shouldn’t act like i could find a solution you are right there but still i don’t think he should get a redemption ark- so many people either died by him or died to save him and it’s kinda just weird after the time jump his view on life kinda shifted. like when he found out what his dad did he didn’t even wanna live; he thought that he wasn’t even good enough to have these powers since they were stolen; so i find it weird how he just killed in masses after that ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ in my opinion he shouldn’t have killed that much just to save his friends

Well, as long as humans exist violence will always happen someday lol. But at least the 2000 cycle of hate, which has been the cause for... almost everything, would be over.
yea that's the thing, he hates himself when he realized that he wasn't special. that's one of the reasons why he doesn't really think for himself, because he is weighed down by the guilt of so many scouts and comrades dying for him in s1-s3. He doesn't want to make their sacrifices useless, and doesn't want to accept that Paradis and his friends has to die for world peace. If he had more self-worth, was little more "selfish", he would've placed his sense of justice and his individual morals, values, and emotions over doing smth he genuinely didn't want to do.
Yea for sure to us it seems totally an extreme thing to do just for friends, but it's also that he wanted to create a world where ppl could have the freedom to live, free from the past. Or smth, I think. Still, his actions are truly... not smth a normal human would do. Mostly because he isn't one anymore.
But we won't know the full story until the end, i just read ch 135 and idk smth seems fishy lol.

i mean, self hate shouldn’t be the reason to commit mass genocide (⌒▽⌒) he’s the founding titan he has like all the power, he could lead his people correctly instead of causing fear and chaos, everyone has seen the titans in the walls and all he’s doing is getting rid of the immediate issue </3 a large majority of the leaders have been turned into titans- heck even a large majority of people inside the wall have been turned into titans; how can he say he’s helping them when he’s really just causing pain and fear. he’s hurting his friends and he’s KILLING TENS OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. a redemption ark wouldnt work for him since he’s literally given away all reason at this point. if he was trying to ‘end the hate’ why would he use such a painful way. just to ‘end the hatred’ isn’t a good enough reason to commit mass genocidehis character literaly took a 180, just 4 years ago when he was about to be sacrificed to a titan he was ashamed that his father had to hurt so many people, his morals had a drastic change but i still don’t get how this is the only solution he could find with all the power he has; he could literally make more stronger dependable walls with the hammer titan, or show his power and not kill all of humanity in the process

His self hatred wasn’t the reason lol, I mean that’s how he was mentally capable of doing smth THAT monstrous and evil, smth that sorta goes against his values and morals. Both Ymir and Eren forgot their humanity and didn’t see themselves as human (Ymir saw herself as a slave and Eren saw himself as a monster) which is why they are the 2 ppl in this story who have done the most horrible things and killed the most ppl. Idk man, he has the memories and we don’t. He’s obviously pretty intelligent. Only a portion of the military got turned into Titans, and if you reread the chapter you can see him reaching out the Zeke and wanting him to stop. He didn’t want it to get that far. Does that excuse his actions? No, but it’s not like he wanted it, and I think he already set himself down on the inhumane path and suppressed his consciousness.
Maybe I said it before, but he wanted to create a world where history didn’t have to repeat itself for 2000 yrs, where ppl can live free from the cycle of hate. It’s either Eldians or the world, one cannot exist with the other because they are biologically different, have horrible pasta, and each fear and hate the other side. I told you I’m not trying to justify his actions, Eren even knows that he’s irredeemable, just saying why Eren is doing it.
Strong walls- basically that’s jsut a circle back to season 1, everyone wondering when the walls will be burst open. Walls are the oppression of freedom, Eldians have to passively accept punishment for smth they didn’t do. Show his power- well dang now the world hates and fears Eldians even more and will be even more determined to upgrade their anti titan weapons which are already strong and the cycle of hate continues.
CAN WE JUST KILL EREN, I GET ITS SHOUNEN BUT THERE IS NO REDEMPTION ARK THAT CAN FIX HIM PLEASE JUST- i’m bloody tired of his bloody stupid fookin self<3 just die king it’s not that hard
