I've loved a few friends like my sisters but I have others i'm also close too but not to that extent. Not to mention Angela was supposed to be her new 'sister' or to be treated as such, and all as our Mc keeps stating 'she's like my sister' or 'she is my sister now' so I don't think this hypothesis is correct thats what im getting out of this.

exactly I've got three dogs used to have two hermit crabs and fell in love with all of them, including my cousins kids who are adorable and I feel like they are mine instead and I just want to spoil them rotten lol
