she doesn’t see Abel in a romantic way at all! her love for Abel is in no way romantic. And she is imagining how the character Abel would’ve looked like in the future, not the actual Abel. she’s relating to the time when she only read about Abel in a novel. also the father and son literally have the exact same features that’s why even the dad is mistaking her handkerchief of Abel as himself. She doesn’t love any of the two romantically, Abel? never. the dad? maybe in the future. so it’s not creepy at all that she’s comparing Abel to his father who she also has no romantic interest in
