Uh what? I think the carrier is Natsuko. Cause when she was in the shed crying in the VERY start, she broke a vase. Since she comes from a long line of witches or something along those lines, the virus was probably contained in that vase she broke. And then after she started going out she spread the virus to everyone in the village.
I bet the carrier or the one influence the virus to act is Machiko and that girl cousin probably already die kill by machiko party when they find him at the forest and kinda feel guilty when seeing him
