She is a nice self sacrificing very sensitive devoted caretaker type. But she can't really stand up for herself neither against the other maids or her own family. She was often saved by the ML and his friend/ally. It is quite frustrating to see her like that.
She is not that much different from Ibelina from "Sincerely: I Became a Duke’s Maid".
She has this one moment where she criticizes the supposed father of the ML when he fell into a coma... She is only strong when it serves for the ML...
Even after being fired she can't help but keep thinking and crying about her master/ML in disguise.

Is she even capable to live for herself?
For once I wanna see a maid character who doesn't fall so in love with her master and be a badass selfish bitch.
Most fantasy stories about maids are being self-sacrificing mother figures and being starcrossed lovers with their social high ranking masters. They all are nice damsells easily pushed around by alphaholes.
Badass maids I know of are in:
This Corrupt World's "Normal" Is Difficult
The Villainess' Slow Prison Life Began With Her Broken Engagement
You just only confirmed how groundbreaking progressive "Beware Of The Villainess" is.
Because this story subverts, deconstructs and breaks many (novel) tropes.
Actually it is Melissa who directly shits on these cliches^^
Other manwahs that may come close to criticizing tropes/cliches or the novels world:
The Pet Of The Villainess (Empowerment and Liberation)
The Stereotypical Life of a Reincarnated Lady (Making fun of stereotypical things)
There is also "Miss Not-So Sidekick" but I don't like how the MC is being treated and patronized especially by her ML. Maybe you ll like it but I don't.
Why not both? I like either type of character as long as they are done well. Too many times I’ve read stories with badass characters that feel flat, there is a certain charm to those who are more “motherly” just like there are charms to those badass female protagonists. I love both tropes equally, as long as I like the character. I feel like most problems stem from the male leads being genuine assholes, regardless of how cool the fl is....idk that’s just me. I’d like to see a greater variety in the male leads we get more than anything else.
That's the problem. A motherly maid character can be very protective and strong when it comes to her fosterling. But once she is alone or without them they easily patronized, teased and pushed over by various ML assholes! That is so common!
There is one maid/caretaker who has lots of guts and isn't easily intimated by any highranking assholes: "From Maid to Mother"

The MC should take some lessons from the maid character I admire Yona from "Beware Of The Villainess"
