at first, I thought so too, but after re-reading, I think only the last envelope he was planning to give him had "I love you" in it. All the previous envelopes really had information and the yakuza really thought the detective was reading them. If the detective didn't confess on their last date, that last envelope too would be shredded and the detective might have never known about his love.
but the detective never knew about his love. and the tittle says unknown letterS with "S" i don't know maybe you're right but my mind can't accept that. Maybe im a romantic haha
maybe it can be read both ways and it's left to the reader's imagination then :) I personally think that it makes more sense if it was only the last letter that had a confession, because if all letters were like that, the yakuza'd know that the detective wasn't reading them, and he'd act differently.
he acted like that bc its they cant be together and the police guy never said he want to be together.u would be cruel too if u write i love u and no reply when u have sex next time .
He asked the uke on page 14 if he read his letter. If that letter also had a confession, he would either think that the uke ignored it because he didn't love him back or that he missed to see his confession. But then why would he give one last love letter and run away if he knew his previous love letters were all discarded? What difference would it make to give a letter if that letter, too, surely was gonna be ignored? (or if he thought the letters were not being read, wouldn't he want to make sure that his confession is heard before he says farewell?)
OMG! So the envelop hes been giving him all this time doesn't contain information but the words "i love you"? if thats the case this story is well thought of. Its such a waste not continuing this. SO MUCH POTENTIAL. ╥﹏╥
