mikio is able to provide the very thing he loves and the snap of a finger so that also proves to be an advantage for him

I agree with you. I don't even know why people are surprised how it turned out anyway. It was obvious from the beginning, especially with the cover. The cover screamed that there was gonna be a threesome. I know that it did develop where you though Kou should be with Hodaka, which would've been fine too. But it wasn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be. It was great, I Just wish it continued a bit more.
I also didn't get their reactions. All three of them were together as shown in the cover and hodaka seems ok sharing kou with mikkio. About kou, he didn't even consider to whom he have feelings for
